The judge approved the lawsuit of the Spanish League and canceled the registration of Gavi’s contract as a player in the first team of FC Barcelona, so he will have to return again as a player in the reserve team, as Barcelona submitted a request to register Gavi’s contract with the court after the deadline.
There is already a first decision of the Commercial Court No. 12 in Barcelona regarding the urgent precautionary measures submitted by Barcelona on January 31, forcing the La Liga League to register the player with his new professional contract.
This happened despite the fact that it contravened the budget control regulations approved by La Liga last November. First in the Committee of Delegates and then in the General Assembly.
Today, Monday, the court canceled these precautionary measures, which means that Gavi was once again written off as a player in the first team and once again became a player for the reserve team.
There was a formal defect in the document presented because its time had expired, and within the day of grace granted by justice. Now FC Barcelona has to re-register him as a reserve team player, although he can continue to wear the number 6 on his back.
In an official statement, La Liga announced that it had received “notification from Barcelona Commercial Court No. 10, informing that the precautionary measures agreed upon on January 31, 2023 for the Jaffe case have been lifted, given that Barcelona has not met the deadlines set for the submission of the main claim.”
For its part, Barcelona guarantees that the lawsuit, contrary to what La Liga says, has not yet come on time and that the precautionary measures will not be lifted until the decision becomes final because there is an appeal.
This means that Gavi will continue to play with Barcelona, but he will not be able to obtain his new salary, and he will return to the previous meager salary according to his contract, which will expire on June 30, when he will be able to leave for free at the time if the club does not find solutions.
