Barcelona decides to return only two of its seven loaned players.. and put the others on transfer market

Barcelona’s sports management has already started planning for the next season with the challenge of generating more than €100m in income.

There will obviously be some important sell-offs, preferably before 30 June, and the loan situation has also been analyzed with the aim of making the most of their eventual departure.

Barcelona wants to sell most of its players on loan, with the exception of only two players who have options to return before the new season, although their continuity is not guaranteed if an important financial offer comes, which may certainly happen in the case of one of them.

The seven players on loan are: Abdel Samad El Zalzouli, Nico Gonzalez, Umtiti, Lenglet, Trincao, Dest and Collado and progress is already being made on some operations to close the sales. There is optimism.

The environment of all these players, with the exception of Abdel Samad Al Zalzouli and Nico Gonzalez, already knows firsthand that Barcelona will not depend on them in the future and that the decision is to settle the contracts through final sales.

The clearest case is that of Trincao, who will be acquired by Sporting Lisbon at the end of the season, but there will be more. Lenglet has many opportunities at Tottenham. There is no agreed purchase option, but the English club is willing to make an offer and Barcelona will not cause problems.

The Frenchman has established himself as a regular and there are few top level left footed defenders on the market.

Other cases will be more complex, although there is hope in Barcelona of breaking the contract for Umtiti, who can now secure offers from both Italy and France if he leaves with a letter of freedom. Sergino Dest’s case is analysed. The full-back is not finished settling in at Milan but he still has a market and Barcelona will try to sell him for just over €12m.

Collado, who was injured at Elche, will have another year left on his contract with Barcelona and a final solution will be sought, although it is unlikely that there will be any income from his sale.

Barcelona must do this as soon as possible to settle these contracts before the season starts. Xavi does not want any overbooking in the summer and that is why work is done quickly, opening negotiations and putting players on the market.

Nico and Abdel Samad are the ones chosen to return and Xavi will test them, but the door will not be closed in front of them if there is a tempting offer. And with the Moroccan wing, there may be surprises.
