Javier Tebas, president of the Spanish League, announced Gavi’s position to participate in the Barcelona and Real Madrid match next Sunday in the framework of the 26th round of the Spanish Premier League, after the court’s decision to cancel the registration of his new contract with the Catalan club.
And the court had agreed to cancel the registration of Gavi’s contract with the Barcelona first team, which means that he will return to his old contract with the youth team, which will expire on June 30.
Barcelona is at the top of the La Liga standings with 65 points, 9 points ahead of Real Madrid, who is in second place with 56 points, which increases the importance of the upcoming El Clasico match.
Regarding the controversy over Gavi’s participation in El Clasico, Tebas said: “Gavi is available to Xavi and he will be able to play the El Clasico because it is a problem to register in the first team, but he will be able to play with the youth card, as he did before.”
He added, “Barcelona will appeal and the judge will decide, but the matter is quite clear.” And he went further with regard to the next season with regard to Gavi: “Barcelona will not have a salary block for the next season because it will start negatively, but until June 30 they have time to release a salary block.”
