Barcelona President Joan Laporta revealed the deals the club is preparing for next season during a press conference held this afternoon. Laporta made it clear that there are three clear deals.
Laporta stated emphatically: “Barcelona will definitely have to sign a full-back as well as a centre-back whenever there is a good opportunity in this situation. I think a new striker will have to be signed as well, but some player will have to leave.
On the other hand, Laporta commented that he is not considering signing a midfielder: “We have a good midfield. There are many players in this position and I don’t think it is necessary to sign a new player in this position. Especially when we have a great academy. We will look at the academy there and Xavi will definitely do that.”
The Blaugrana president was convinced that Barcelona would be able to sign new signings despite the problems La Liga is causing the club due to its salary limit and financial fair play.
Laporta said: “I always hear from them that Barcelona will not be able to sign new deals. Yes, it is true that we are over the limit and that will limit us a lot, but we are working and we will do everything we can to sign. Some players will have to leave, but we will sign new players.”
