Ousmane Dembele was injured against Girona in Montilivi. Half an hour into the match, he was forced off with a rectus femoris muscle injury in his left thigh. An injury that could keep him out of the field for three to four weeks.
On Sunday he went to the Camp Nou to watch the match his team mates were playing against Sevilla and Dembele had to sit in the stands. Players who are not called up have a designated spot near the field of play.
Our colleague Valente Enrich, a photographer for Sport, went there to take a picture of those players who couldn’t be on the pitch or on the bench and found a ‘greeting’ from Ousmane Dembele, although it might have been taken as an obscene gesture as he turned to the camera and smiled.
We’re watching a new Dembélé dare to joke as he recovers from injury. We are already looking forward to seeing him on the field soon.
