Ansu Fati’s indisputable status at Barcelona has not gone unnoticed in European football. So much so that seven clubs have shown interest in the 20-year-old Spanish-Guinean striker who has a contract with Barcelona until 2027 with a €1,000m termination clause.
Among them, the one who asked the most about Ansu is Bayern Munich, with the recommendation of their coach Julian Nagelsmann. The Bavarian club really likes the Spanish international, although there has been no offer yet.
Also, four English clubs, including Mikel Arteta, Arsenal and Tottenham’s Antonio Conte, did not lose sight of Ansu, who extended his contract with Barcelona in October 2021.
With Jorge Mendes Coyle at his side, Ansu Fati has started in just seven of the 19 matches he has played in La Liga this season. The new plan with four midfielders that is doing well for Xavi Hernandez does not help Ansu get more presence in the starting line-up.
Ousmane Dembele’s injury was not an incentive at the present time for the Guinean Spaniard to occupy one of the two positions in the attack, alongside Robert Lewandowski.
Ansu played as striker number ‘9’ during the three matches that the Polish striker missed due to a suspension. However, on Wednesday, against Betis, Rafinha was chosen to occupy the right wing.
This Sunday (9pm) against Sevilla, it remains to be seen if Rafinha will continue in the same position or if Ansu Fati will start while the “big” Europeans notice his situation.
Xavi asks for “patience”
Given the market information about Ansu Fati, Xavi Hernandez asked for calm this Saturday before the match against Sevilla: “You have to be patient with him, things will work out for him. We trust him very much. He has a tremendous mentality and is an asset to the club. Patience, it takes time, this is not the time to talk about sales.”
