Soon, Jesús Gil Manzano was the protagonist of the King’s Cup quarter-final match between Barcelona and Real Sociedad, which ended with the Catalan team winning 1-0 to qualify for the semi-finals.

The referee ruled out a goal against Barcelona for offside by Frenkie de Jong, but he did not see, for example, a very clear push from Brais Mendes to Pedri in midfield. Not only did he count the fault, but he addressed the canary, warning it to get up off the ground.
It is clear that there is no friendliness between the Manzano horses and the Camp Nou. He didn’t blame Brais again after hitting Lewandowski from behind which made Xavi furious.
Only the third time, when Brais Mendes stepped on Busquets, did he show him the yellow. The card that turned red after the VAR warned him he deserved to be sent off.
